How To Apply For Medicare Online In Only 10 Minutes

With Social Security offices mostly closed and hold times well over an hour, it can be frustrating to apply for Medicare. Here we will show you some of the ways to apply for Medicare online and avoid the hassle of Social Security. 

Apply for Medicare Online

It is very easy to apply for Medicare through the Social Security website. You can apply at the link HERE. Scroll down a bit on the page there and click “Apply for Medicare Only”. Once you do that you will be asked to login or create a My Social Security account. From there you will be guided through the application online. After you apply you will usually hear from Social security within 2-3 weeks by mail your application status and when your Medicare begins. If they are missing anything or if something seems off about your application you will receive a call or a letter asking for clarity or the missing information.

Head up: When creating your My Social Security account it will ask you a couple questions about your loan/financial history to verify your identity. These will feel like credit check questions. If you get them wrong you will have to wait 24 hours before you can try again. If you can’t get past these you will have to call in or apply in person.
