In 2015, Abid explored possible part time opportunities that would not only augment his income but would allow him to transfer twenty years of an acquired set as a high school academic counselor to a newly discovered industry. As an academic counselor, he focused on the “client centered” approach; in simple terms, putting students and fam-ilies first – respecting differences and being culturally responsive across racial, social and economic strata. As he transitioned into the health-care industry he was excited to realize that at the corporate level, Local Medicare Agents Insurance mimicked education – resembling a district office, that provides assistance to the agent who then takes that information and passes it on to the client, aka the student.
